{"id":283,"date":"2019-10-22T09:03:52","date_gmt":"2019-10-22T08:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/?page_id=283"},"modified":"2019-10-22T09:03:53","modified_gmt":"2019-10-22T08:03:53","slug":"the-board-of-studies","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/the-board-of-studies\/","title":{"rendered":"The Board of Studies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Board of Studies have the following <strong>key functions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>to evaluate and improve the academic strategy for the respective schools\nwithin The College;<\/li><li>to be responsible for the academic standards and quality assurance\nof education across the respective school;<\/li><li>to propose courses \/ programmes to be provided by the respective schools,\nthrough consultation with interested stakeholders regarding the curriculum of\nsuch courses \/ programmes;<\/li><li>to propose guidelines regarding courses \/ programmes provided by\nthe respective schools;<\/li><li>to establish, subject to the School Policy, the entry requirements\nfor courses \/ programmes of the respective schools;<\/li><li>to recognise, following a recommendation by the competent\nauthorities, qualifications, and awards of other education providers for the\npurpose of access into a course \/ programme of the respective schools;<\/li><li>to verify that the assessment procedures used by the schools are\nin conformity with the approved academic policies;<\/li><li>to vet and approve external project tutors, project proposals,\nperformance programmes, examination set pieces and papers, documentation and\nresults issued by the respective schools;<\/li><li>to nominate external examiners according to pre-established\nguidelines;<\/li><li>to conduct regular\nand periodic evaluations that shall constitute an internal audit exercise of\nits educational programmes, its services and operations;<\/li><li>to establish and confirm prizes and awards;<\/li><li>to rescind an award or result after identification of any\nadministrative error or a student academic review;<\/li><li>to monitor the progress of individual students (with exceptional\nchanges of situations and circumstances) and provide tailored\nsessions\/assessments as necessary;<\/li><li>to monitor students\u2019 complaints, student academic reviews and\nassessment offences;<\/li><li>to receive and consider reports from the various tutors and\ndepartments within the respective schools;<\/li><li>to advise and deal about any other matter which refers to\neducation (including exemptions, extensions, appeals and grievances) as may\narise in the administration of the respective schools.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The College\u2019s Board of Studies is\nmade up of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The College Principal\/Head of College Network<\/li><li>The Education Officer of The College<\/li><li>The Heads of the 4 schools within The College <\/li><li>4 Educators (a representative from each school within The College)<\/li><li>1 Adult Student \/ Parent \/ Guardian from each school within The\nCollege<\/li><li>External consultant when necessary <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Studies will evaluate\nand improve the academic standards and quality assurance of education across\nthe school.&nbsp; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Board of Studies have the following key functions: to evaluate and improve the academic strategy for the respective schools within The College; to be responsible for the academic standards [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-283","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/283","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=283"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/283\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":284,"href":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/283\/revisions\/284"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/vpa.mikielantonvassallicollege.gov.mt\/mt\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=283"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
